The Newman Government has approved a $15,000 funding grant to assist the Queensland State Emergency Service (SES) Group at Woodgate.

Member for Bundaberg Jack Dempsey said the funding was awarded under the 2013-2014 SES Non-Recurrent Subsidy Program.

“This program provides assistance to local governments to help maintain and support the vital services the SES delivers,” Mr Dempsey said.

A total of 13 projects across the state were secured funding under the 2013-2014 Program to assist with SES groups with accommodation, motor vehicles, accessories for motor vehicles and office equipment.

Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett congratulated the Woodgate SES Group and Bundaberg Regional Council on its success in gaining the funding.

“I am pleased to announce an application from Bundaberg Regional Council for $15,000 has been approved to assist the Woodgate SES Group purchase a replacement vehicle,” Mr Bennett said.

“I have advocated for this sorely-needed vehicle and am pleased with this outstanding result for the Woodgate SES Group.”

The SES Subsidy Program is a Queensland Government program administered by the Grants Management Unit, Emergency Management Queensland and the Department of Community Safety.
