Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett has welcomed maintenance works which will commence shortly to improve the condition of the Woodgate boat ramp near First Avenue.
Mr Bennett said the condition of the Woodgate boat ramp had deteriorated over the years and was in much need of repairs.
“I welcome these structural repairs which will ultimately improve the experience for the local boating community as well as visitors to the region,” he said.
“These upgrades have been a long time coming and I’m delighted to hear this important public facility will be repaired to ensure its longevity.
“It’s great to see the Department of Transport and Main Roads has acknowledged that there is a need to upgrade this important facility.”
Works will include repairs to the sub-structure to prolong the ramp’s asset and ensure the structural condition of the ramp continues to handle ongoing traffic demand.
The works are expected to be completed by mid-July, weather permitting.
