Fatality Free Friday carBurnett and Bundaberg drivers are being urged to pledge their support for road safety to help achieve the Queensland goal of no deaths on Fatality Free Friday (30 May).

Fatality Free Friday puts road safety back into the hands of the community by encouraging all road users to ensure safety was top of mind while travelling.

The Queensland Government’s support of this innovative campaign for a second year delivers on our key election promise to revitalise frontline services.

I have taken the pledge to stay safe on the road and encourage everyone to get involved in this important campaign.

Queenslanders will have the opportunity to sign an inflatable car at various locations across the state and collect a Fatality Free Friday key tag as a constant reminder of their personal road safety pledge.

While we currently have one of the lowest road tolls on record, any death on the roads is a tragedy.

Lives have been forever changed because of tragic road crashes.

With 68 fatalities on Queensland roads already this year, I encourage everyone to get behind Fatality Free Friday during the state-wide tour and stop that number from rising.

All Queenslanders are encouraged to make their pledge at various locations across the state, tour dates and locations can be found at www.fatalityfreefriday.com

The campaign will be in the Bundaberg area on Tuesday 13 May from 9am – 3pm at the TMR Bundaberg customer service centre in Production Street.

The Fatality Free Friday campaign supports the Newman Government’s Join the Drive to Save Lives strategy, which is focused on encouraging community involvement and participation, revitalising frontline services in road safety.
