How can the Member for Bundaberg continue to defend a government in chaos and crisis?

They failed to maintain a fleet of trains and as a result Bundaberg will suffer.

Residents will now be forced to finds hundreds of extra dollars to get to their medical appointments in Brisbane.

While I welcome Mr Smith’s efforts to increase the PTSS, the issue still stands that the State Labor Government has cut Bundaberg’s train services in half.

An increase to the PTSS will not fix the fact that elderly residents who are seeking medical treatment will now have to add a huge extra financial and practical burden to their already stressful journeys.

Unfortunately, Mr Smith and Minister Bailey have missed the point entirely.

In relation to the briefing in March, I was unable to attend due to parliamentary committee business.

The fact of the matter is Bundaberg residents are getting half the train services they were promised.

This will directly affect hundreds of people, dozens of whom have already contacted my office in serious distress.

I would like Mr Smith to actually listen to these people who are now greatly disadvantaged due to his government’s failure to plan.

We are sick and tired of the cheap political games.

The Palaszczuk Government wouldn’t dream of cutting train services in half in Brisbane, but clearly regional Queensland is not their priority.

I will continue to fight for our region and our rights.

That’s why I’ve launched a petition today that’s requesting the House to do all in its power to ensure the replacement of each lost return train service with wheelchair accessible busses as a matter of urgency.

This shouldn’t be negotiable.

I’m asking Bundaberg and Burnett residents to get behind this petition to force the State Labor Government to fix their mess.
