“The health minister has chosen to ignore serious claims from doctors regarding people’s safety at the Bundaberg Hospital.
After today’s performance in Question Time, it’s clear Minister D’Ath is only worried about how things look, rather than how they actually are.
An industrial relations court matter has heard from senior doctors at the Bundaberg Hospital who say bed shortages and ED wait times are putting people’s safety at risk.
On behalf of my community, I asked the Minister what action she has taken to support and guarantee patient safety at the hospital.
All we got was spin about the future new hospital.
We need to know what actions are being taken now, not decades in the future.
Patients are at risk now.
These serious revelations aren’t the fault of our hard-working doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
They’re the result of eight years of a tired, third term Palaszczuk Labor Government.”
