“I am absolutely appalled by the disrespectful and disappointing display from the Member for Bundaberg.

My job is to expose the truth behind the health and hospital system in the Wide Bay, this motion was in an effort to get our community what we rightfully deserve.

Sadly last night we saw the Member for Bundaberg ignore his community once again.

He didn’t even have the courage to debate my motion and instead had the Health Minister change it’s wording to protect his failings.

The arrogant third-term Palaszczuk Government will spin, hide, and blame anyone and anything but themselves.

They have lost touch with what is happening at the Bundaberg Hospital.

In Bundaberg it takes patients more than eight weeks to get a breast cancer scan because there is no permanent radiographer employed at the Queensland Health facility.

In some cases, this is an issue of life and death.

Women in the Bundaberg region are victims of the Queensland Health Crisis because the State Government is losing control of the health system.

The work that our nurses, doctors and health staff do is nothing short of incredible.

But a recent AMA survey has revealed that many are not only working more than 90 hours a fortnight, but they are also being advised NOT to claim overtime.

These heroes on the frontline are being overworked and cast-aside.

It’s time for the Labor Government to stop mocking the people of Bundaberg and deliver on their promises.”
