Bundaberg and Burnett residents are being urged to keep the conversation going about road safety during Queensland Road Safety Week.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the state-wide campaign runs from August 22-28 and was an opportunity for all drivers to be directly involved in making our roads safer for everyone.
Mr Bennett said this year’s theme, ‘Speaking up for road safety’, encourages all Queenslanders to think about their driving and how they can help to keep everyone safe on the road.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and this week gives us an opportunity to reflect and have a conversation with our friends and families to observe the fatal five and drive safely,” Mr Bennett said.
“We all play a valuable role in keeping our roads safe. By working tougher we can reduce the burden of road trauma on our communities.”
An official launch of Road Safety Week was launched in Bundaberg today.
