Help is on hand for seven local veteran organisations who will share in over $120 thousand under the latest round of the Anzac Day Trust Fund.

Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said this funding will go a long way to assist ex-service men and women in our community.

“For years, the veteran community and I have been pushing for more funding and support to help our veterans and their families,” he said.

“To see this funding committed brings an enormous sense of relief, especially in the lead up to a typically stressful and challenging time.

“A huge thanks must go to everyone in the community who fought for these funds, thank you for not giving up.”

Mr Bennett said the funding will go towards vital services, giving local veterans the support and respect they need and deserve.

“This funding will help purchase meals and clothing for our veterans who have given so much,” he said.

“It will also go towards commemorative events, funerals and important members functions.

“It’s important we give thanks and pay our respects to our ex-service men and women.

“This Anzac Day Trust Fund is a small way to honour our veterans who fought to protect our lives and our country.”
