Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett is encouraging local businesses to partner with Queensland Health via a new online portal.

Mr Bennett said the Partner with Queensland Health portal is designed to enable businesses to submit ideas that will help deliver efficient and effective health services.

‘‘Proposals received through the portal will be considered by the department’s new Contestability Branch or Ministerial Health Infrastructure Council,’’ Mr Bennett said.

‘‘We will be examining a number of services in the next six months to determine if they can be delivered more efficiently or cost-effectively through an alternative method or provider.

‘‘We will carefully consider a number of factors when prioritising services to be assessed.

‘‘Firstly, we’ll be looking to ensure any services we’re evaluating continue to deliver the priorities set out in ourBlueprint for better healthcare in Queensland.’’

Mr Bennett said other factors to be considered included the capability of the market and the complexity of the service.

‘‘To date, eight services including central pharmacy and IT support have met these criteria.

‘‘Businesses can register their ideas about delivering these services to Queensland Health through the portal.

‘‘I encourage businesses to regularly visit the Partner with Queensland Health portal to see any updates.

“We’re looking forward to delivering commitments made in the Blueprint and ending the closed-door culture to private investment.”
