A Tim Nicholls-led LNP Government will boost tourism in Queensland with a $9.5 million See Queensland campaign.

LNP Leader Tim Nicholls said revitalising Queensland’s tourism industry and unlocking its potential was a crucial part of the LNP’s plan to Build a Better Queensland.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor have dropped the ball over the past three years and missed out on a golden era of international and domestic tourism,” Mr Nicholls said.

“We understand that tourism investment and attracting more domestic and international tourists will create jobs and help families get ahead.

“Queensland should be Australia’s number one tourist destination but Labor’s failure to support our tourism sector means we have lost significant ground to other states and territories.”

Mr Nicholls said an LNP Government would invest $9.5 million in a See Queensland campaign encouraging domestic and international tourists to see and experience all that Queensland has to offer.

“Queensland is such a diverse state, from the rainforests in the Daintree to the long open roads of the outback to the white sandy beaches of the coast; there is so much to see and do in our great state,” Mr Nicholls said.

“This is why an LNP Government I lead will invest $2 million to encourage Queenslanders to holiday in their home state.

“We want more Queenslanders to venture further than their own backyards and experience a different slice of Queensland.

“The LNP will also invest $2.5 million showcasing Brisbane as the gateway to Queensland to domestic and international tourists.”

Mr Nicholls said an LNP Government would make a major investment in showcasing regional Queensland to domestic and international visitors.

“The Fraser Coast and Bundaberg are two of the most spectacular and diverse regions in Queensland, and an LNP Government will invest $2 million to promote these two regions to domestic and international visitors,” Mr Nicholls said.

“An LNP Government will also invest an additional $3 million for Regional Tourism Organisations and local governments so they can showcase their own local region to the world.

“Under the LNP, not only will thousands more tourists get to experience Queensland, but our plan will help create local jobs and grow the local economy.”
