The Newman Government’s Kids in Care Christmas Appeal is wrapping up but there is still time for Burnett and Bundaberg residents to
donate a gift, with the appeal closing on Friday, 13 December.
I am grateful to those who have already donated many gifts to this year’s appeal.
It has been wonderful to see the generosity of so many people in the community and local businesses and I sincerely thank everyone for their kindness.
Our community is known for pulling together to help each other and the Burnett has certainly shown their support for our kids and young people in care with hundreds of gifts of all shapes and sizes already donated.
I am hoping the generosity will continue to grow and see more gifts donated before the 13 December deadline so all children and young people in care can receive a gift through the appeal.
The Newman Government’s Kids in Care Christmas Appeal had a positive impact in communities across the state.
Being a part of the appeal also sends a strong message of support to our wonderful foster carers and the important role they play within our communities every day.
Our election promise to revitalise frontline services is all about putting Queenslanders first and everyone can play their part and show they care by supporting our Christmas appeal.
The appeal runs until 13 December. Presents need to be suitable for a child ages 0 to 18 years. People can make their donation at their local ABC studio at 58 Woongarra Street, Bundaberg.
Any surplus toys will be distributed to other children who are known to Child Safety.
