Isis Child Care and Family Support will receive an additional $19,404 cash injection every year to enhance service delivery, Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett announced today.

Mr Bennett welcomed the increased funding, which he said was a recurrent payment through the Queensland Government.

He said the funding provided to Isis Child Care would increase from $94,596 to $114,000 as at July 1.

“Isis Child Care and Family Support is one of 25 hubs across Queensland to receive a share of $2.3 million in funding through the Queensland Government to support children and families through a wide range of early childhood development activities,” he said.

“This funding commitment will increase to $3 million from the 1st of July 2016, and will increase capacity for the lowest-funded hubs.

“Hubs currently receive different amounts of funding, which has an impact on the capacity of lowest-funded Hubs to deliver their services to its full potential.

“These additional funds will assist the child care and family support hub to continue the great work they do in supporting vulnerable families in the community.”

Mr Bennett congratulated staff at the Isis Child Care and Family Support hub.

“The Isis Child Care and Family Support hub is multi-functional and a highly flexible resource providing activities and services for families with young children,” he said.

“Centres such as the Isis Child Care and Family Support hub play a crucial role in communities and it’s great to see this local facility will be able to continue and build on the services they provide with the help of this additional funding.”
