Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett has welcomed plans to revitalise Bundaberg’s Hummock Lookout.
Mr Bennett said the Hummock Lookout would be upgraded after $165,000 was allocated to the popular facility under the state government’s Scenic Lookout Upgrade Program.
“It’s great to see assistance being provided to the local council to improve facilities which will in turn attract more tourists to our region,” he said.
“The Hummock is a well-known spot for visitors and locals alike and this revitalisation will ensure it is utilised more often and will be something our community can be proud of.
“It’s an ideal spot to admire our region’s unique landscape.”
Mr Bennett said Bundaberg’s Hummock was one of 28 lookouts to be upgraded across the state.
The upgrade works are due to begin in the next financial year.
