While State Parliament is usually all work and no play, this week Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett was spotted hanging out with members of Brisbane Heat.

With the local community in mind, Mr Bennett took advantage of a visit from Brisbane Heat today in Parliament to enter an exclusive competition to win a signed Brisbane Heat cricket bat.

Mr Bennett said if he wins the competition, he will bring the cricket bat home to donate to a deserving local club, but he needs your help.

To help Mr Bennett bring home the bat, simply head to his facebook page, Stephen Bennett MP, and ‘like’ the post where he is pictured with Brisbane Heat’s Ben Cutting, Delissa (Dee) Kimmince and mascot, Heater.

The MP whose Facebook post receives the most likes by 5pm on Monday, September 5, will win the bat.

“This is a wonderful and unique opportunity for a local sporting club or community group to get their hands on this signed Brisbane Heat cricket bat which could be used to raise further funds for their organisation,” Mr Bennett said.

“Community groups could choose to raffle off the cricket bat, or even use it as an auction item to raise much-needed funds.

“I know there are a range of grassroots sporting and community groups out there doing it tough to make ends meet, and this would be a great opportunity to give a club a little extra financial boost.

“I’d love to be able to bring home this bat for a deserving Burnett community group, but I’ll need the community’s help to make it happen.”
