Queenslanders wear their hearts on their sleeve when it comes to State of Origin and now they can show that pride when they get behind the wheel.
Queenslanders can celebrate the all-conquering Maroons’ eighth State of Origin series victory with a limited edition Maroons number plate.
Maroons fans can have their say on the tag line for a limited run of number plates which will be available later this year.
Vote now for QUEENSLANDER! – 8 IN A ROW, Domin8 – Go Queenslander or Queensland – The Gr8 State, with the winning plate soon available for purchase.
I’m particularly keen for the plates to be carried by anyone who regularly travels south of the border.
A limited print run would be available from next month.
Motorists who purchasd a new car or anyone wishing to replace their existing plates will have the option to choose the new Plates of Origin.
The cost will include the current transfer fee of $25.45, plus an additional $15 charge, and the plates will be available at all Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centres.
Voting will close on Friday, 2 August and the first plates will be available shortly after announcing the results.
Queenslanders purchase 450,000 number plates each year, but I’m expecting these to be in high demand as Queenslanders rejoice in this record-breaking series win.
You can vote for your favourite plate now via www.tmr.qld.gov.au and register your interest from August 2.
