Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett is encouraging families to ‘Get in the Game’ and apply for sports vouchers through the latest round of the Get Started funding program.
Mr Bennett said the program was part of the former LNP Government’s flagship $48 million initiative, assisting Queensland families by providing vouchers of up to $150 to help cover the cost of sport and recreation club membership or participation fees.
“Get Started has now opened, with vouchers valued at $150 up for grabs to help families get their children involved in sport,” he said.
“This program was designed to encourage more young people to get into sport or recreation activities and ease the financial burden on families.
“I encourage families to take advantage of this wonderful program and give their kids an opportunity to enjoy the fun and fitness that goes along with sport.
“Get in quick as vouchers are allocated on a first come, first serve basis and numbers are limited.”
Vouchers can be redeemed at numerous local clubs representing a range of sport and recreation activities.
