The Moore Park Surf Life Saving Club has been awarded $14,500 in government funds to purchase a new rescue boat, Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett has announced.

Mr Bennett said he was thrilled the Surf Life Saving Club had been recognised for their work in the community.

“The Moore Park Surf Life Saving Club is very deserving of this state government grant through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
“I am absolutely delighted to see this funding go to such a great and dedicated group.
“Since 1954 their volunteer members have been providing emergency search/rescue and first aid, and delivered surf safety and preventative programs to ensure beach visitors avoid danger.”
Mr Bennett said the Moore Park Surf Life Saving Club was one of three not-for-profit groups throughout the Burnett region to receive a grant.

“1770 Sailing have also seen $14,750 committed to them to purchase canoes While Pilotlight Productions in Childers have almost $5000 to put towards new equipment,” he said.
