Bundaberg and Burnett school students are being encouraged to show off their drawing skills and enter the 2020 Farm Safety calendar competition.

Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said the annual competition encourages local children to think about what it means to be safe on a farm.

“Bundaberg North Burnett is one of the largest fresh produce rich regions in Queensland,” Mr Bennett said.

“Many or our children are lucky enough to grow up on our farms and while it can be a whole lot of fun, it does not come without its risks.

“This farm safe competition is designed to get primary school children thinking about those risks and about how to navigate farms safely.

“Twelve winning drawings will be published in the 2020 Farm Safety calendar and the winning entrants will each receive a $250 voucher and $500 for their school.”
