Thousands of Queensland state school students will continue to have access to greater education and career opportunities as
part of an extension to the Gateway to Industry Schools Program.
It’s great news that the Queensland Government is investing an extra $900,000 to continue the program in schools across the state.
Rosedale and Isis District High Schools are two of more than 100 state schools that had engaged with local industry to develop the skills of students as part of the initiative.
The Queensland Government is committed to ensuring that students have access to the education and skills they need for a bright future with lifelong career opportunities.
Students from Isis District High School have achieved great things through the Gateway to Industry Schools Program and I’m thrilled that this initiative will continue.
Principal for Isis District State High School, Brett Kavanagh said this is welcome funding to ensure strong ongoing partnerships with local industry and important pathway options for our students.
The Gateway Schools program provides industry relevant training in the six priority areas of agribusiness, building and construction, manufacturing and engineering, food, wine and tourism, aerospace and minerals and energy.
This is about engaging with industry to give students the experience they need to make informed choices about their future career options, so that Queensland has a strong workforce for years to come.
