Two dozen local sporting clubs will share in $60,000, including a big windfall for Sailability Bundaberg!

Sailability Bundaberg is one of 24 not-for-profit clubs in the Burnett to receive $2,500 under Active Clubs Round 4.

Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said he couldn’t be happier to see the grants go to such hard-working local organisations.

“Sailability Bundaberg is going from strength to strength and I’m so pleased to see this funding go towards a club that brings many benefits to our community,” said Mr Bennett.

“They’re continuing to grow and usually host around 30 clients and their careers every Thursday morning.

“This grant will see them expand their capabilities by educating and training more volunteers.

“We’ll also see the Parkrun team get a boost with $2,500 for equipment as well as the South Kolan and Isis District Horse and Pony Clubs.

“A huge congratulations must go to all our successful clubs.

“Thank you for your enduing support of our communities.”

Sailability Bundaberg’s Derek Glanfield said it’s great to be able to provide an all-inclusive activity for the region.

“Sailability Bundaberg has been in operation for the past 18 years and we’re certainly seeing growth in the all-abilities sector,” he said.

“Our volunteers go above and beyond and put in a lot of their own time, this grant is a great opportunity to thank and acknowledge their hard work.

“It means we can invest more time and money into their training, including skipper training, first aid and CRP courses.”
