Almost $35,000 has been injected into the Burnett region under the Activate! Queensland program.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said he’s over the moon to see 18 successful applications in the electorate in this first round of funding.
“The Activate! Queensland grants are all about empowering more people to enjoy physical activity to improve their health and wellbeing,” he said.
“18 groups in our region are seeing up to $2000 come their way for equipment and training projects.
“Some of these groups include the 1770 Dragons, the Avondale Football Club, Bundaberg Active Riders, the Isis Cricket Club and the Pacifique Surfriders Club.
“It’s vital we get out and about and encourage others to do so as well.
“We are extremely privileged to live in such a beautiful region that offers such a variety of activities, so let’s get outside and enjoy it!”
