I’m pleased to welcome the announcement of funding from the Newman Government’s Smart Schools Subsidy Scheme.
It’s great to see that Givelda, Gooburrum and Goodwood State Schools have been successful in their application for subsidy assistance with $208,800 approved for capital works projects.
This is funding that falls outside the scope of other capital works programs from the department.
The Smart School Subsidy Scheme is especially supportive of innovative infrastructure projects.
It’s great to see these three schools taking sun protection for our littlest Queenslanders seriously.
They’ll all be using the funds towards building shade structures and covered areas for sports and multi-purpose activities.
Burnett State Schools are very proactive and work very hard towards great education outcomes for our children.
I congratulate Givelda, Gooburrum and Goodwood State Schools for their ongoing commitment to better resources for outdoor teaching, learning and play-based programs.
I want to remind Burnett schools that Friday 9 May is the closing date for expressions of interest for funding in 2014.
