Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett today congratulated three community groups in the Burnett electorate on their success in the recent round of grants from the Gambling Community Benefit fund.
The Bundaberg Bird Breeders Club will purchase PA equipment with $3,612 in funding.
The Coral Coast Creche and Kindergarten are delighted to receive $18,840 to upgrade their landscaping and resources, while the Miriam Vale Sporting Shooters Association will be laying concrete, installing containers and a tank with their grant of $20,676.
“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is just one way the Government returns taxes from gambling activities to communities, and helps to ensure that through our community organisations, we all receive some benefit from gambling in Queensland”, Mr Bennett said. He encouraged other organisations to take advantage of the funding opportunities available from the Gambling Community Benefit fund.
Grant allocations from the GCBF Round 73 will take the total funding provided to Queensland not-for-profit organisations to over $540 million, with more than 41,600 applications funded since 1994. More information can be found at www.olgr.qld.gov.au/grants
