Sport and recreation clubs throughout the region are being encouraged to apply for funding to improve their services and facilities through the state government’s Get Going Clubs program.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett encouraged local clubs to take advantage of Round 7 of Get Going Clubs which opens today.
Mr Bennett said Get Going Clubs provides grants of up to $7,500 for eligible not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations to assist clubs in providing quality sport and recreation activities and improving access to sporting and recreational opportunities.
“I encourage all sport and recreation clubs to seek support for their planned activities and facilities through the Get Going Clubs program,” he said.
“It’s a wonderful initiative which was brought in by the former LNP Government to help people get involved in sport and recreation and promote healthier lifestyles.”
Applications for Round 7 close on June 29.
