More than 70 people shared a cuppa today at ‘Bundy’s Biggest Morning Tea’ to raise funds in the fight against cancer.

The eighth annual morning tea was thanks to a joint initiative between the Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett, the local QCWA branches and event organiser Bernice Maidment.

The event broke previous records and raised more than $2000 to help Cancer Council Queensland continue their vital work.

Mr Bennett said every dollar helps to fund lifesaving cancer research, prevention, advocacy and support programs.

“Sadly, many of us know someone who has been touched by cancer in some way, this event gives us a small opportunity to come together to help fight this terrible disease,” he said.

“Thank you to everyone who came along to today’s morning tea, it just goes to show was a generous and supportive community we have across the Bundaberg and Burnett region.

All funds raised through the morning tea will help support more than 1820 people in the Wide Bay Burnett diagnosed with cancer each year.
