Bundaberg’s BUSHKids has been awarded almost $30,000 from the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said today.
Mr Bennett said BUSHkids was one of more than 600 community groups to receive a share of almost $13 million in funding from the latest allocation of the government fund.
He said the not-for-profit organisation was awarded the funds to support its school readiness program targeting kids in the area.
“It’s wonderful to see organisations such as BUSHKids get the support they need to continue to offer vital services in our community,” Mr Bennett said.
“BUSHkids provides primary health care to children and their families, offering child development therapy services to improve the health and wellbeing of children with, or at risk of, developmental and other difficulties.
“Investing early in a child’s health is crucial to the development of young ones and our community is fortunate to have such a service at our fingertips.”
The next round of funding of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund closes midnight, May 31.
