The Member for Bundaberg’s immaturity and arrogance was on full display in Queensland Parliament today after the Labor MP lashed out regarding the promised Level 5 Hospital.

During Question Time, the Bundaberg MP’s disruptive behaviour broke out in response to the LNP Health spokesperson’s question to the Health Minister in relation to plans to build a Level 5 hospital, as promised by the local Labor MP.

Mr Smith was warned several times by the Speaker for his unruly behaviour despite the reasonable question which sought details on Labor’s Level 5 Hospital in Bundaberg, given the $4 billion infrastructure budget cut.

Burnett MP Stephen Bennett said the Bundaberg MP’s behaviour was appalling and only further demonstrated where his true priorities lie.

“Instead of fighting on his community’s behalf for an issue that is so important to our community, it is clear he is fighting for relevance within his own party,” Mr Bennett said.

“It was a sensible question seeking answers as to where the money is in the budget to build our Level 5 hospital which was clearly promised by the Bundaberg MP.

“The Member for Bundaberg was screaming and carrying on across the floor of Parliament which is an absolute embarrassment to the people of Bundaberg who just want answers as to when they will receive their promised Level 5 hospital.”

Mr Bennett said he was disappointed by the Health Minister’s illusive response to the question which provided no further clarification or reassurance to the community.
