Local MPs David Batt and Stephen Bennett are preparing to deliver a blooming beautiful treat to mothers across the region with the help of the Endeavour Foundation.
Hundreds of bunches of bright chrysanthemums will be delivered to aged care facilities across the region this week in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Mr Batt and Mr Bennett urged the community to support the Endeavour Foundation, a not-for-profit disability service provider, this Mother’s Day.
“Supporting the Endeavour Foundation this Mother’s Day is a no-brainer. Not only will you be supporting a wonderful not-for-profit organisation enrich the lives of others, but they do a wonderful job of producing beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers that your mum is bound to love,” Mr Bennett said.
“Funds raised from bunches of flowers are used to assist people with a disability, whether that is helping them gain employment opportunities, life skills development or assistance with independent living.
Member for Bundaberg David Batt praised the Endeavour Foundation for their work in the community.
“Our local Endeavour Foundation has been doing fantastic work supporting people with a disability to gain employment opportunities and live happy and fulfilling lives,” Mr Batt said.
“Every year Endeavour workers grow, harvest and sell flowers for Mother’s Day. This year I’ve ordered over 500 bunches to deliver to the mature mums who now call our local aged care facilities home.”
The chrysanthemums cost $10 a bunch and are on sale at Endeavour Foundation Industries office, 7 Fitzgerald Street, Bundaberg from Tues-Fri 7:30am to 3:30pm, Sat 7.00am to 2pm and Sun (Mother’s Day) 5:30am to 2pm.
