Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett has today been named the Shadow Minister for Housing and Public Works as part of the LNP’s fresh-faced team.

Accepting the position today, Mr Bennett said he was honoured to take on the new role and join Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls’ experienced team.

“It’s a great privilege and I’m humbled that the LNP team has the confidence in me to take on the important task of highlighting Labor’s mismanagement of the Housing and Public Works portfolio,” Mr Bennett said.

“I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into this portfolio and drawing on past experiences as the former manager of the local QBuild district office to address challenges, and seek opportunities, within the portfolio to produce policies that advance the interests of all Queenslanders.”

Mr Bennett said the LNP was determined to get Queensland moving once more and deliver real outcomes for the people of Queensland.

“I have full confidence in the new experienced team to move forward and hold this incompetent government to account,” Mr Bennett said.

“Our team has the right mix of experience, enthusiasm and new ideas, combined with a deep understanding of the issues affecting all Queensland.

“Sadly Queenslanders are being let down by the current Palaszczuk Government.

“It’s clear that Labor has no plan to manage the transition of the Queensland economy, grow jobs or invest in the services Queenslanders need and deserve.”
