Local organisations have less than one week left to apply for funding as part of the Queensland Government’s Anzac Centenary Grants program.
Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett said applications for funding under the program’s current round will close on Monday, October 3, for projects which commemorate the Anzac centenary and serve the memory of our servicemen and women.
Mr Bennett said the Anzac Centenary grants program was devoting to Anzac Centenary commemoration events and projects throughout the duration of the centenary period until 2018.
“Funding provides communities with an ability to come together, to tell personal stories that engage and educate future generations about this significant period of our nation’s history in ways that are relevant to them,” he said.
“Funding of up to $80,000 each for local projects is available to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, and to honour the Anzac spirit in local communities.”
