The Bundaberg region will receive a $75,000 grant as part of the Queensland Government’s Regional Tourism OrganizationMon Repos Have Your Say cropped (RTO) Contestable Grants Funding Scheme.

The funding continues to deliver on the Government’s election promise to revitalise tourism in Queensland.

The funding will be used by Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism to further promote the annual turtle season, a signature visitor experience in the region. 

Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism will implement the next instalment of the campaign in October, using a digital social acquisition strategy and cooperative marketing activities in partnership with local tourism operators.

The funding will build on the momentum of previous campaigns which resulted in the Mon Repos Conservation Park recording one of its busiest tourist seasons on record in 2013 with almost 30,000 visitors witnessing the annual pilgrimage of sea turtles.    

This project is one of many across Queensland to receive a share of almost $3.1 million in funding made available under the Government’s RTO Contestable Grants Funding Scheme.

The funds are in addition to almost $4 million in core funding provided to the RTO network in 2014-15.
