Locals were quick to sign a petition for funds to upgrade the Gary Larsen Oval in Miriam Vale.
LNP sitting Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett has secured $50,000 to upgrade the Gary Larsen Oval in Miriam Vale.
Mr Bennett, who ran a petition to assist the Miram Vale and district communities expand facilities for sporting activities, said the $50,000 election commitment would be delivered if he is re-elected under the LNP Government.
He said he was looking forward to delivering on this election commitment.
“I’d like to see this wonderful community continue to grow, and this funding is a great step forward to help the Rugby League club and other clubs prosper,” Mr Bennett said.
“The playing surface of Gary Larson Oval is in need of an upgrade, and investing in the oval will allow expansion of membership and upgraded facilities for sporting activity in Miriam Vale.
“I’m confident an upgrade to the facilities will encourage more people to get out and be active and socialise together.”
He said it was important to support local sport and recreational clubs and boost their facilities.
“Our local sport and recreation clubs bring our community together and promote fitness and thanks to the LNP’s strong plan, we’re boosting facilities and services so that more people can get active,” Mr Bennett said.
